Kansas City, MO, USA – January 17, 2020: Delden Garage Doors of Kansas City is grateful to help fill the wish list of two KC area children during 2019’s holiday season. This opportunity was made possible by KVC Kansas’ Holiday Heroes program.

“Since KVC has been providing services to families in Kansas, we have been providing support during the holiday season. We are so grateful for the support of community agencies, corporations, and faith groups who help by adopting children and families who may not have the resources to provide holiday gifts. We are so proud to support over 4,000 children this year,” states Jackie Harwig, CRS supervisor at KVC Kansas. “The holidays can be a stressful time for anyone, especially families who may be in need of behavioral health, preservation, or foster care services, and we hope our Holiday Heroes program helps to alleviate some of this additional stress,” added Harwig.

Delden sponsored the Christmas wish lists for a 14 year-old girl and a 13 year-old boy. The Holiday Heroes program works by asking each child to request eight gifts, and try to keep each item limited to $40 in cost. Also included is their interests, clothing sizes and hobbies. All sponsors are requested to commit to at least six of the items on each list.

 

Delden was able to fill all items on both lists. The 14 year-old girl, who’s name we chose not to disclose, likes competitive dance. The 13 year-old boy likes video games and basketball. “Delden is grateful to KVC Kansas for providing an opportunity where we can fill the Christmas lists of these kids,” states Kelly Meyer, office manager at Delden Garage Doors of Kansas City.
